Letter from Terri's Brother
Week of February 7, 2011
Dear Friends,
 |
We have some exciting news we want to share with you! The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network was presented with the 2009-2010 Gerard Health Life Prize Award on January 22, 2011 in Washington, D.C.
The Life Prize Award is an annual prize given to those who have shown outstanding efforts to awaken the conscience of America to the sanctity of human life. It truly was an honor to be included in such a memorable event alongside such respected pro-life leaders. Some of the recipients have included Jill Stanek, Lila Rose, Alveda King and Kristan Hawkins, just to name a few.
Students for Life!
While in Washington, I also had the opportunity to speak at the Students for Life National Conference. They had close to 2,000 students participating in this annual event. It was inspiring to me seeing so many young, energetic college students and to share with them the importance of protecting the cognitively vulnerable in our society today.
Many of these students were shocked to hear the truth about what is happening all across America in regard to healthcare rationing and how ordinary is has become to remove basic care like food and water from persons with profound brain injuries, simliar to Terri, that are neither dying nor being kept alive by any type of machines. This year we will be traveling to campuses across the U.S. to speak to students about this vital issue.
Terris Day 2011!
On March 31, 2011, we will be having the sixth anniversary Memorial Mass for my sister, Terri. The event will be held on Thursday, March 31 at 5: 00 PM at the Ave Maria Oratory at Ave Maria University, 5050 Ave Maria Boulevard, Ave Maria, FL 34142.
As in years past, Fr. Frank Pavone will be the main celebrant for the Mass. All are invited and we hope you will be able to join us for this very special event. For more information about Terris National Mass including how you can get involved, find hotels near Ave Maria and learn more about Ave Maria University, please visit Terris website at www.terrisfight.org or click on the Terris Day 2011 icon!
And as always, thank you for your continued support!
