Letter From Terri's Life & Hope Network
Week of July 25, 2011
Dear Friends,
This past weekend, my sister Suzanne and I were honored to speak at the Being Faithful, Even Unto Death: Catholic Wisdom of the Treatment of the Disabled and Dying conference in Kansas City, KS sponsored by the St.Gianna Physician's Guild.

Our joint presentation entitled How many Terri Schiavos are Dying Everyday in America? presented an eye-opening account of societys attitude regarding food and water (via feeding tubes) and how it affects the brain injured, the elderly, those with Alzheimers disease and many others.
It was an honor to speak alongside so many prestigious speakers. Cardinal Raymond Burke, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signa, was the keynote and spoke on the The Mystery of Human Suffering and Dying, emphasizing that Suffering does not cause a person to have less meaning in his life, nor does it give the government the right to decide if that person should live or die. Cardinal Burke continued by saying, Human life is a gift to be accorded the highest respect and care from its beginning until natural death.
Special guest Dr. Gianna Emanuela Molla, the youngest daughter of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, traveled from Italy giving a heart wrenching account about the life, legacy and spirituality of her mother and caring for her beloved father in his final years.
Other speakers included geriatric specialist Dr. Austin Welsh, and Thomas More Society Executive Director Peter Breen. Also in attendance were Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City and Bishop Robert Finn of Kansas City-St. Joseph, MO.
The conference was remarkable and a huge success, evidenced by the packed room of over 350 people. We need more events like this that raise awareness and counter the very strong liberal agenda and influences that are helping indoctrinate the general public into accepting dangerous misconceptions of how to treat and care for our most vulnerable.
Summer Camps!
Earlier this month I was once again invited to be part of the Louisiana Right to Life, Camp Joshua, and Wisconsin Teens for Life, Camp Nehemiah, both pro-life camps to train high school students to be pro-life leaders.
As was the case last year, I was very touched and absolutely inspired by the passion that these students have in regards to wanting to learn about the value and the dignity of all human life. It is hard not to have hope in the future of our leaders when you speak to kids that are completely dedicated and committed to not only advocating for our most vulnerable, but are so wanting and willing to spread this vital information to so many others along the way.
